چکیده
Rational land use can enhance soil nutrient sequestration and control erosion, but the mechanisms of ecological restoration soil-aggregate-associated carbon nitrogen are still not well understood. A large-scale program was launched in Loess Plateau during 1990s. The programs involved converting slope farmland to woodland, grassland, shrub land, terrace. We studied their effects relation cultivated as on aggregate structure stability associated organic total contents 60 cm depth Plateau. Our results indicate that practices reduced fragmentation, increased stability, transformed micro-aggregates into small large aggregates. Comparing with >0.25 mm amount terrace by 71%, 66%, 46%, 35%, respectively, which improved health overall. mean weight diameter indicates (SAS) hydraulic erosion resistance improved. In conclusion, directly or indirectly affected SAS through influence different layers. Results this study provide a scientific reference for understanding stabilization regional restoration.

Changes in Soil Carbon and Nitrogen following Land Abandonment of Farmland on the Loess Plateau, China
The revegetation of abandoned farmland significantly influences soil organic C (SOC) and total N (TN). However, the dynamics of both soil OC and N storage following the abandonment of farmland are not well understood. To learn more about soil C and N storages dynamics 30 years after the conversion of farmland to grassland, we measured SOC and TN content in paired grassland and farmland sites in...
متن کاملClimate and Land Use Controls on Soil Organic Carbon in the Loess Plateau Region of China
The Loess Plateau of China has the highest soil erosion rate in the world where billion tons of soil is annually washed into Yellow River. In recent decades this region has experienced significant climate change and policy-driven land conversion. However, it has not yet been well investigated how these changes in climate and land use have affected soil organic carbon (SOC) storage on the Loess ...

We studied the impacts of re-vegetation on soil moisture dynamics and evapotranspiration (ET) of five land cover types in the Loess Plateau in northern China. Soil moisture and temperature variations under grass (Andropogon), subshrub (Artemisia scoparia), shrub (Spiraea pubescens), plantation forest (Robinia pseudoacacia), and crop (Zea mays) vegetation were continuously monitored during the g...
متن کاملThe Effect of Land use and Soil Erosion on Soil Organic Carbon and Nitrogen Stock
Soil organic carbon (SOC) is a principal component in soil quality assessment. Knowledge of SOC and total nitrogen (TN) stocks are important keys to understand the role of SOC in the global carbon cycle and, as a result, in the mitigation of global greenhouse effects. SOC and TN stocks are functions of the SOC concentration and the bulk density of the soil that are prone to changes, influe...
متن کاملLand-use types and soil chemical properties influence soil microbial communities in the semiarid Loess Plateau region in China
Similar land-use types usually have similar soil properties, and, most likely, similar microbial communities. Here, we assessed whether land-use types or soil chemical properties are the primary drivers of soil microbial community composition, and how changes in one part of the ecosystem affect another. We applied Ion Torrent sequencing to the bacterial and fungal communities of five different ...
